Independent By Design. Trusted By New Zealand.

As a New Zealand independent QA team, we saw an industry grading its own homework.
We existed to fix that.

Meet the Leadership

Three senior leaders with a combined 60+ years inside New Zealand’s most demanding technology programmes.

Renee Kerslake, QA Consultant at Resync

Renee Kerslake

021 884 117

Founder

Renee founded Resync in 2019 after a decade leading test delivery, recruitment, and consulting across New Zealand’s technology sector. A Māori woman of Te Atiawa and Ngāti Tama, Ngāti Mutunga  descent, she sets Resync’s strategic direction, builds the client relationships that sustain the business, and keeps the team focused on outcomes that clients actually feel — not reports that look good on paper. Renee works closely with local iwi to create pathways that bring Māori and Pasifika into IT through culturally grounded training, mentorship, and industry partnerships — honouring culture while building careers in software testing.

John Peters, QA Consultant at Resync

John Peters

021 408 406

Managing Director

John has spent more than 20 years doing one thing really well — building QA capability that actually matters. From nine years as Head of QA at Chorus to leading BNZ’s Core Ledger Replacement as QA Valuestream Lead, he’s been the person organisations turn to when QA needs to grow up fast. He joins Resync because he believes quality should be a strategic enabler, not something bolted on at the end — and he’s spent his career proving it.

Brendon Lang, Managing Director at Resync

Brendon Lang

027 681 3046

CONSULTANT

Brendon has been in the room for some of New Zealand’s most complex technology programmes — Telecom NZ’s XT network, Westpac Digital, EQC’s operational transformation, Chorus’s enterprise portfolio. Thirty years of that gives you a particular kind of perspective: you stop being surprised by where things go wrong, and you get very good at fixing it. At Resync he leads test transformation, automation strategy, and technical delivery — with a focus on helping clients build QA operating models that actually hold up.

The Independent QA Team Behind Resync

In 2019, Renee asked a question nobody wanted to hear: how can you trust your test results when the company testing your software also built it? The answer was simple — you can’t. So she founded Resync — a Māori-owned business that operates by three values that predate the industry:

  • Kaitiakitanga (guardianship of what our clients entrust us with)
  • Whanaungatanga (relationships built on trust, not contracts)
  • Manaakitanga (leaving every team we work with stronger than we found them).

Independence isn’t just how we’re structured — it’s why clients trust us. Others have been absorbed by global organisations or now answer to offshore shareholders. We answer to our community and our clients — nobody else. Our leadership team has been inside New Zealand’s most complex programmes for decades, and what we leave behind matters as much as what we deliver. Every engagement builds your capability. When we walk out the door, your team can stand taller without us. Explore our careers or browse latest insights from the team.

With 70+ engineers deployed across New Zealand’s most complex programmes — government digital transformation, banking platform migrations, insurance system overhauls, and large-scale enterprise rollouts — we have seen what works and what does not. That experience feeds back into every engagement. We do not rely on templates or offshore playbooks. Every test strategy is designed from the ground up for the specific risks, architecture, and delivery cadence of your programme. That is what being a genuinely independent QA team means: no conflicts, no shortcuts, and no one grading their own homework.
